Hongkun Belting / Oil-resistant rubber covers
Oil Resistant Conveyor Belts
Hongkun supplies fabric conveyor belts with oil-resistant rubber cover options for bulk material handling. Send your material, oil exposure and belt specification so we can confirm the cover compound and finished construction for your order.
For materials containing animal fat, vegetable oil or mineral oil, the cover choice depends on the actual substance, temperature and contact conditions. The quotation should identify the selected compound and its agreed exposure limits.
Oil-Resistant Fabric Conveyor Belts
A textile carcass carries belt tension, while the rubber covers protect the material side and pulley side. Hongkun lists oil-resistant covers within its fabric conveyor belt range. The carcass, ply count, belt strength and cover thickness are confirmed together for the conveyor duty.
For an existing belt replacement, send the belt marking, width, length, top and bottom cover thicknesses, and photos of the belt and conveyed material. State whether oil reaches only the carrying surface or also the return side and belt edges.
Review the available reinforcement families on our fabric conveyor belts page. Oil resistance is a cover requirement; an EP or NN marking alone does not identify the oil-resistant compound.
Cover Grades to Confirm for Your Material
Use the following categories to describe your inquiry. Hongkun must confirm the available grade, compound reference and finished belt construction before order approval.
| Cover category for inquiry | Exposure to discuss | Order confirmation needed |
|---|---|---|
| MOR — moderate oil resistance | Bulk materials containing animal fat or vegetable oil | Actual oil or fat, content, temperature, contact duration and approved compound limits |
| OR — oil resistance for mineral-oil exposure | Materials contaminated with a specified mineral oil | Oil identity or product data sheet, additives, contamination level and approved compound limits |
| PITCH — specialized compound review | Materials involving pitch or turpentine | Exact substance, mixture and operating conditions; separate confirmation of availability and compatibility |
These categories are inquiry references. They do not establish that every grade is available with every carcass, size or belt form. A grade name alone is insufficient for approving an order.
Oil Exposure Limits
Compatibility must be confirmed for the oil actually present in the conveyed material. Approval for one substance should not be extended to another oil, solvent or mixture without review.
Provide the oil name, supplier data sheet where available, approximate oil content and whether contact is intermittent or continuous. Include normal and peak material temperatures, ambient conditions, cleaning agents and any other chemicals reaching the belt.
Where cold startup, hot material, flame resistance or high abrasion is also required, describe it with the oil exposure. The final compound and complete belt construction need to meet the combined duty.
Handling material containing vegetable oil or animal fat does not establish food-contact compliance. If food contact is required, state the destination market and required documentation in the inquiry.
Specifications for Your Order
| Order detail | Information to provide |
|---|---|
| Finished dimensions | Belt width and length; total thickness and top/bottom cover thicknesses |
| Reinforcement | Existing belt marking, fabric type, ply count and belt strength, if known |
| Oil-resistant cover | Selected grade and compound reference, with agreed substance and exposure limits |
| Conveyor duty | Working tension, belt speed, pulley diameters, material load and loading conditions |
| Supply form and joint | Required roll or loop form, existing splice arrangement and installation constraints; feasibility to be confirmed |
| Inspection requirements | Agreed dimensions, material identification and any oil-resistance test documentation required |
| Commercial details | Quantity, destination and required delivery date |
Confirm the feasible dimensions and cover combination for the selected oil-resistant construction. General fabric-belt dimensions are not an automatic approval for every special compound.
Oil-Resistance Evidence for the Selected Compound
If your purchase specification requires swelling evidence, identify the required test before placing the order. The report should state the compound or sample identity, test method, test liquid, exposure temperature, duration, measured property and acceptance limit.
A laboratory immersion result applies to its stated test conditions. It does not by itself establish conveyor operating temperature, service life or compatibility with every oil. Agree on any test using the actual process oil and confirm whether the evidence concerns cover rubber or the finished belt.
Include required reports or inspection documents in your inquiry so their availability and scope can be confirmed with the quotation.

Buyer FAQ
Can I order an oil-resistant EP conveyor belt?
Send the full EP specification and oil exposure details. Hongkun will review the oil-resistant cover with the required carcass, dimensions and conveyor duty before confirming the finished belt.
Is MOR suitable for mineral oils?
Do not approve it from the MOR label alone. Identify the mineral oil and exposure conditions, then confirm a compound approved for that duty.
Is an oil-resistant belt also solvent resistant?
Oil resistance does not establish solvent compatibility. Identify solvents, cleaners and mixed chemicals separately for review. Pitch or turpentine duty requires a specific compound assessment.
What temperature can the belt withstand?
Confirm the operating limit for the selected compound and finished construction under the actual oil exposure. A laboratory test temperature is not a continuous operating rating.
What determines the price and lead time?
The compound, carcass, belt dimensions, cover thicknesses, quantity and agreed testing affect the quotation. Send your specification and required delivery date for order-specific confirmation.
