Hongkun Belting / Factory-made rubber belt loops

Endless Conveyor Belt

An endless conveyor belt is supplied as a closed loop, ready for installation on a compatible conveyor. Hongkun manufactures endless rubber conveyor belts using two methods: hot-vulcanized splicing and continuous carcass winding followed by whole-loop vulcanization.

Choose the construction around your required circumference, surface uniformity, operating conditions and installation access.

Does endless mean seamless? Endless describes the closed-loop form. A hot-spliced endless belt still has an end-to-end joint; a continuously wound carcass avoids that conventional splice.

01 / Manufacturing

Two Ways to Make an Endless Conveyor Belt

Method 01 / Endless with splicing

Hot-Vulcanized Spliced Belt

A length of cured rubber conveyor belt is cut from a roll. The ends are prepared and joined by hot vulcanization to form the required loop.

This method generally offers lower manufacturing cost and a simpler production route. It is a practical option when a properly designed splice meets the conveyor duty.

The splice remains a part of the belt construction. Its performance depends on joint design, materials, vulcanization quality and operating conditions.

Method 02 / Endless without an end-to-end splice

Continuously Wound Belt

The reinforcing carcass is wound continuously into a loop. Top and bottom rubber covers are applied, and the complete loop is then hot-vulcanized.

This construction eliminates the conventional end-to-end carcass splice and can provide a more uniform running surface through the belt circuit.

It generally costs more and takes longer to manufacture. The finished dimensions, tolerances and operating requirements must be confirmed for the order.

02 / Construction comparison

Spliced vs. Continuously Wound Endless Belts

Selection pointHot-vulcanized splicedContinuously wound
Carcass constructionCured belt ends joined by a hot-vulcanized splice.Carcass wound into a loop without a conventional end-to-end splice.
Cost and productionGenerally lower cost and a simpler manufacturing process.Generally higher cost and a longer manufacturing process.
Surface uniformitySplice thickness and alignment require control.Avoids the conventional splice transition; finished uniformity still requires control.
Failure considerationsSplice defects or unsuitable service can cause joint failure.Removes the conventional splice as a failure location; wear, damage and other failures remain possible.
Selection priorityConsider when cost and a suitable splice design meet the duty.Consider when surface continuity is a priority, including weighing or higher-speed duties subject to review.
Final approvalConfirm size, splice design, tension and pulley compatibility.Confirm size, carcass design, tolerances and whole-loop curing feasibility.

A correctly specified spliced belt can provide reliable service. A continuously wound belt does not carry a universal guarantee of longer life: load, alignment, abrasion and maintenance still matter.

03 / Application selection

Where an Endless Rubber Conveyor Belt May Fit

ApplicationWhat to review before selection
General industrial conveyingUse a factory-closed loop where the conveyor allows installation. Review material, load, cover grade, tension and pulley diameters.
Electronic weighing and belt scalesReview the continuously wound option when a splice transition could disturb running uniformity. Confirm scale design, belt mass uniformity, thickness tolerance and calibration requirements.
Higher-speed conveyingReview surface uniformity, belt balance, tracking, pulley diameter and operating tension together. Confirm the actual belt speed; no universal speed rating is implied.
Replacement of an existing endless beltSend the old belt marking, loop dimensions and conveyor photos. Confirm whether the existing belt has a splice and whether the conveyor can accept a closed loop.

For textile reinforcement and rubber cover selection, see our fabric conveyor belts. Endless is a supply form, so the carcass and cover must still match the application.

04 / Specification & quotation

Details Needed for Your Endless Belt Quote

Send the following information to review manufacturing feasibility and receive an order-specific quotation.

ParameterInformation to provide
Endless circumferenceRequired finished loop circumference in mm. State whether this is measured on the inside, outside or another reference line, and under what tension.
Width and thicknessFinished width, total thickness, top/bottom cover thicknesses and required tolerances, in mm.
Carcass and belt ratingExisting marking, fabric type, strength rating and number of plies, if known. For an endless EP conveyor belt, send the full EP specification.
Manufacturing methodHot-vulcanized splice or continuously wound carcass. If unsure, describe the performance priority.
Conveyor geometryDrive and tail pulley diameters, any bend pulleys, conveyor drawing and take-up arrangement/travel.
Operating dutyMaterial, load, belt speed, working tension, start/stop frequency and impact conditions.
Environment and coverMaterial and ambient temperatures, abrasion, oil, chemicals or other special requirements.
Supply and installationQuantity, delivery destination, required date, installation opening and any packing or handling restrictions.

Size approval: Available loop circumference, width, thickness and tolerances depend on the construction and manufacturing process. Confirm the finished specification before ordering.

05 / Delivery & fitting

Check Installation Access Before Ordering

A factory-made loop avoids making a belt joint during installation, but the conveyor must provide a way to fit the complete loop.

  1. Confirm the removal and fitting route. Review whether pulleys, bearing assemblies or frame components must be removed to install the loop.
  2. Agree on circumference and take-up position. Conveyor center distance alone does not define the finished belt circumference. Include pulley geometry, take-up travel and the agreed measurement condition.
  3. Confirm packing and handling. Agree on a packing method suitable for the loop size and construction. Avoid tight folds or handling that can crease the carcass.
  4. Set up the conveyor after fitting. Follow the equipment procedure for tensioning and tracking, then check unloaded and loaded running.

06 / Frequently asked questions

Endless Conveyor Belt FAQ

What is an endless conveyor belt?

It is a conveyor belt formed into a closed loop before installation. The loop may be made by joining belt ends or by continuously winding the carcass before vulcanization.

Is every endless conveyor belt seamless?

No. A hot-vulcanized endless conveyor belt has an end-to-end splice. A continuously wound carcass avoids that conventional splice. Confirm the manufacturing method rather than relying on the word endless alone.

Which method is better for a belt scale?

A continuously wound belt may be worth reviewing where a splice transition affects running uniformity. Belt scale suitability also depends on thickness and mass uniformity, tension, tracking and the scale manufacturer’s requirements. It does not automatically guarantee weighing accuracy.

Can a belt without an end-to-end splice still fail?

Yes. Removing the conventional splice removes one possible failure location, but the belt can still suffer carcass damage, cover wear, delamination or damage from unsuitable operating conditions.

Can I order an endless EP conveyor belt?

Send the EP belt marking, circumference, width, cover details and operating data. Hongkun will confirm the feasible manufacturing method and finished specification for the requested size and duty.

What determines the endless conveyor belt price?

Price depends on loop circumference, width, thickness, carcass specification, rubber compound, manufacturing method, tolerances and quantity. Continuously wound construction generally costs more than conventional hot-spliced production. Request a quotation using your actual specification.

What is the production lead time?

Lead time depends on the selected construction, dimensions, material availability and order quantity. Continuously wound construction generally requires a longer manufacturing process. Confirm the schedule with the quotation.
