How to Get a Heat-Resistant Conveyor Belt Quote

To start a preliminary heat-resistant conveyor belt quote, send four basic details: belt length, width, finished thickness, and temperature condition. These details give the supplier enough information to begin the technical review.

The supplier will then review the conveyed material and actual operating conditions. This review helps determine the heat-resistant compound, carcass, strength, and cover construction.

Send These Four Details First

Start with the dimensions you know and a clear description of the temperature. Use millimeters for width and thickness, and meters for total length.

Swipe horizontally to view the full table.

Detail What to send Example format Why it matters
Belt length Total belt length or roll length and number of rolls 120 m total Establishes the required belt quantity and production scope
Belt width Finished belt width 1,000 mm Affects construction, material use, and compatibility with the conveyor
Finished thickness Overall finished belt thickness 14 mm Gives the supplier a starting point for the cover and carcass review
Temperature condition Normal temperature, short peak, and what each value describes 150°C normal material temperature; 180°C short peak Guides the heat-resistant compound and construction review

Important: Overall thickness is only a starting reference. Final confirmation may also require top cover thickness, bottom cover thickness, carcass type, and strength rating.

If one field is unknown, do not guess. Write Unknown — supplier to recommend and send an old belt marking, specification sheet, drawing, or clear photos when available.

These four details can start a preliminary quotation. They do not replace the final technical specification required before production.

Describe the Temperature, Not Just One Number

A useful inquiry explains what each temperature value means. The temperature of the conveyed material is not always the same as the belt-surface temperature.

Send when available

  • Normal continuous material temperature
  • Short peak temperature and its approximate duration
  • Measured belt-surface temperature
  • Temperature measurement point: before loading, at the loading point, or on the belt surface after contact
  • Conveyed material name
  • Particle size, especially when large hot lumps contact the belt

Why this matters

Contact time also matters. Belt speed, conveyor length, loading depth, and cooling conditions can change the heat transferred to the belt.

Do not describe one temperature value as a guaranteed belt limit. The value should be reviewed together with the complete operating condition.

For product context, see Hongkun’s heat-resistant conveyor belt product page.

Does Every Heat-Resistant Conveyor Belt Need Steel Cord?

No. A heat-resistant conveyor belt may use an EP fabric carcass or a steel cord carcass. Temperature alone does not decide which reinforcement is suitable.

Heat resistance depends on the cover compound, bonding system, cover thickness, carcass, and full belt construction. The carcass must also match the working tension and conveyor duty.

Steel cord may be reviewed for

  • Long conveyor centers
  • High working tension
  • Heavy loads
  • Wide belts
  • Low elongation requirements

EP fabric may suit

EP fabric construction may suit many general or medium-tension conveyors. Final selection should consider the required strength, pulley diameters, take-up arrangement, splice method, belt width, and load.

If the current construction is unknown, send photos of the old belt marking and cut edge.

What Happens After You Send the Basic Information?

The technical review uses the initial information to identify missing technical and commercial details. The review normally follows four steps.

Swipe horizontally to view the full table.

Step Review focus What it protects
1. Check the dimensions The supplier reviews the length, width, finished thickness, and required quantity. Prevents the first quotation from using the wrong supply scope
2. Confirm the heat condition The review separates continuous material temperature, short peaks, and measured belt-surface temperature when available. Prevents one temperature number from becoming an unsupported belt limit
3. Review the conveyor duty The technical team may ask about the material, load, speed, conveyor length, pulleys, take-up, splice, impact, and cooling. Connects the belt structure to the actual operating condition
4. Recommend a quotation basis The proposal can state the suggested compound, carcass, strength, cover construction, price basis, and any open items. Separates confirmed requirements from assumptions

The buyer and supplier should confirm the final technical specification before production. This step prevents an early assumption from becoming an unapproved manufacturing requirement.

Use this short message for your first inquiry:

Product: Heat-resistant conveyor belt
Total length: ___ m
Belt width: ___ mm
Finished thickness: ___ mm
Conveyed material: ___
Normal material temperature: ___ °C
Temperature measurement point: ___
Short peak temperature and duration: ___
Measured belt-surface temperature, if available: ___ °C
Quantity: ___
Existing belt construction or marking: ___
Unknown technical items: Supplier to recommend
Destination country or port: ___
Photos, drawing, or data sheet attached: Yes / No

Quantity and destination help define the commercial scope. Photos and old specifications can reduce uncertainty in replacement projects.

What Should the Preliminary Quotation Show?

A useful preliminary quotation should identify the information supplied by the buyer. It should also separate confirmed requirements from supplier assumptions.

Check whether the quotation states:

  • Belt dimensions and quantity
  • Proposed fabric or steel cord construction
  • Strength or carcass basis
  • Proposed cover construction
  • Temperature basis used for the recommendation
  • Items included or excluded from the price
  • Packing, trade term, destination, and expected lead-time basis
  • Technical details that still require confirmation

Once you receive an offer, use Hongkun’s guide on how to compare heat-resistant conveyor belt quotations. It explains how to review the manufacturer, technical deviations, supply scope, documents, and delivery terms instead of comparing price alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I request a quote if I do not know the finished thickness?

Yes. Mark the thickness as unknown and send the old belt marking, specification, photos, or sample information. The supplier may need more conveyor data before recommending the final construction.

Is the material temperature enough for a final belt recommendation?

No. Material temperature is a starting point. The review may also require peak duration, belt-surface temperature, particle size, contact time, speed, cooling, load, and conveyor data.

Does a heat-resistant belt always need a steel cord carcass?

No. The belt may use EP fabric or steel cord reinforcement. The choice depends on working tension and conveyor duty, not temperature alone.

Request a Technical Review from Hongkun

Send Hongkun the belt length, width, finished thickness, and temperature condition. Add the material name, quantity, destination, old belt information, and photos when available.

Hongkun can then recommend a suitable quotation basis and list any information required before the final production specification is approved.
